looking for advice on how to socialise sober

Over the past 185 days i've been sober and very glad to say its going well. The main issue I'm having with it is being sociable outside of work. I work long hrs every week and when I do have free time its ussualy spent alone. Its tough to go out and socialize bc since the age of 14 drinking and smoking weed were what I did to socialize.
Over these past 6 months I've been working on coming out of my shell, but finding places to meet people with the same sober mindset is tough. I'm not one who goes to meetings bc in the past I always relapsed and so far its been working out for me, but I'm considering it jus for the social aspect. Since I quit drinking about two yrs ago I havnt gone to many parties or really been social in that regard and I'm yurning to meet new people. its tough to go and do something when you are clueless on how to go about it
Any advice would be greatly apprieciated. Thanks

Im in the same situation as you. All my friends do when we get together is drink, or do some screwed up drugs. Even when I hang with my immediate family they drink directly in front of me. They know I am an alcoholic + have gone to treatment. Sooo
I joined my Cities social clubs. I live in a large city just outside of Toronto. Baseball, Skiing, Art, Gym, Biking, Walking, Running, Tennis or just plain coffee meet ups. I avoid the bar/ Dance club scene meet ups completely as I have relapsed too many times to go anymore.
Just look your city social clubs on the net.

Hope this helps!!!

I am in the exact same situation as well. I literally have never once been the sober person, and failed last week on staying sober once I got the call to go to Happy hour :( I just have to stay away from all places where people are using for now. I have seen many others do it? I think you just have to know that its never an option, where I am not there. I like drinking, but hate myself the next day. So what to do. just avoid it for now.
