Suboxone saliva test My clinic wants to give me a saliva drug test and I was wondering, do saliva lab tests detect suboxone? Do lab tests detect more drugs than a instant saliva test? I've heard that suboxone doesn't show up on tests, but others say it can. I guess I'm wondering, if the lab can't detect the suboxone, how do they know I'm taking it? I saw the thing said it looks for opiates, methadone, thc, coc, bzo. Since it detects methadone, would it see the suboxone? Thanks! |
Hello, and welcome! The answer to your question is going to depend on the type of test and a whole range of physiologic factors. Generally, methadone/suboxone clinics use opiate panels that can detect most opiates (more sensitive than standard tests). Your best bet is to be completely honest with them, get started on a (pardon the pun) high note. |
I would think they are testing you for drugs other then Suboxone. In my case they tested for (ua) other drugs to keep you honest.I realize in early soberiety nobody likes these tests but in the long run its for your best interest.Good Luck |
So you don't think they are even testing for Suboxone? Do they even have a saliva test that detects suboxone? Has anyone ever heard of one? |
To the best of my knowledge, clinics test for a wide range of drugs, especially opiates. It is very important for them to know just what their clients are taking, especially prior to administering a partial-antagonist like suboxone. They also test for metabolites to be sure that patients are actually taking their meds. |
Listening to a bunch of opinions online about what your test may or may not reveal is pretty much a waste of time. Your best bet, the one best for your own self welfare, is to be honest. Tell them what you're on. D |
