step one surrender

To me step one is i cant drink drink, stop fighting it.I can never recapture those great moments in the past.I will always remember my last drink it was a nightmare.I can never drink like a normal person. For years i fought it and always got my butt kicked . I'm out of excuses to drink ,life is life , i take the good with the bad.For anyone just getting sober dont give up ,your worth it!

I understand that and accept it I think I have a problem with terminology like surrender. It brings back other memories and thoughts and I need to understand that the term means diffferent things in different situations.
