I forgot to say yesterday, it's lovely to see you here Soberwolf. xx

You don’t need to travel the world or do big things to live an extraordinary life. Be present.
Notice the beauty around you.
Be curious.
Try the things that interest you.
Be brave.
Start the things you’ve been putting off.
Create something.
Learn something.
Teach something.
And do it all for the love of it.

An old classic to start our day...

I arise today
Through a mighty strength:

God's power to guide me,
God's might to uphold me,
God's eyes to watch over me;
God's ear to hear me,
God's word to give me speech,
God's hand to guard me,
God's way to lie before me,
God's shield to shelter me,
God's host to secure me.

~irish - first millenium - bridgid of gael

"I used to dislike being sensitive. I thought it made me weak. But take away
that single trait, and you take away the very essence of who I am. You take
away my conscience, my ability to empathize, my intuition, my creativity, my

others pain and my passion for it all."

I can identify with that, Daisy, thank you.

From the blossoming lotus of devotion, at the centre of my heart,
Rise up, O compassionate master, my only refuge!
I am plagued by past actions and turbulent emotions:
To protect me in my misfortune
Remain as the jewel-ornament on the crown of my head, the mandala of great bliss,
Arousing all my mindfulness and awareness, I pray!

~prayer to invoke the presence of the master - jikmé lingpa
excerpt from The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying.

Me too, bim. I normally wear a hat all winter, indoors and out, as I keep my house fairly cool. I am reluctant to put it on today, as I don't want to squash the jewel-ornament!

Ring Out, Wild Bells
~Alfred Tennyson

Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
The flying cloud, the frosty light;
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.

Ring out the grief that saps the mind,
For those that here we see no more,
Ring out the feud of rich and poor,
Ring in redress to all mankind.

Ring out a slowly dying cause,
And ancient forms of party strife;
Ring in the nobler modes of life,
With sweeter manners, purer laws.

Ring out the want, the care the sin,
The faithless coldness of the times;
Ring out, ring out my mournful rhymes,
But ring the fuller minstrel in.

Ring out false pride in place and blood,
The civic slander and the spite;
Ring in the love of truth and right,
Ring in the common love of good.

Ring out old shapes of foul disease,
Ring out the narrowing lust of gold;
Ring out the thousand wars of old,
Ring in the thousand years of peace.

Ring in the valiant man and free,
The larger heart, the kindlier hand;
Ring out the darkness of the land,
Ring in the Christ that is to be.
