Holy Spirit, help me to see the beauty
that I am, without and within.

Help me to love myself, unconditionally, without judgment.
Your radiance manifests through me and is
present within me at all times.
My body is Your Temple and a vehicle for Your Work.
It is therefore deserving of love, respect and honor.

This day and always, help me to honor my body,
to love it unconditionally, and to be grateful for its service.

Amen.

I will locate those books and read them Ann, I'll do it first chance I get. I love your last two prayers, thank you.

My lovely friend Snitch from my class of April 2018 posted this for me, it's a lovely prayer and I asked her if I could share it.

MORNING PRAYER

God, direct my thinking today so that it be empty of self pity, dishonesty, self-will, self seeking and fear.
God, inspire my thinking, decisions and intuitions.
Help me to relax and take it easy.
Free me from doubt and indecision.
Guide me through this day and show me my next step.
God, show me what I need to do to take care of any problems.
I ask all these things that I may be of maximum service to you and my fellow man.

🙏 Amen 🙏

Daisy, that prayer is just what I needed to read this morning. Days like today, my head is buzzing in too many directions with things I need to do, stuff I need to get done, plans for the day/week/month and Christmas planning and shopping donchaknow.

Quote:
Help me to relax and take it easy.
Free me from doubt and indecision.
All I really need is to pray on it, and take it easy TODAY and stop fretting about all the tomorrows. Oh my mind KNOWS this, but knowing and doing can be quite different directions.

Taking a deep breath and just going with the flow today.

Daisy - I like this part of the prayer:

"Guide me through this day and show me my next step.
God, show me what I need to do to take care of any problems."

Lately, I've started asking to be shown what to do.
I also pray that in my time on earth I will matter.

I'm glad you all liked the prayer, it's helped me this last couple of days, especially the lines that you've re-quoted Hevyn. x

This may sound too simple, but is great in consequence.

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy,
the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness.

Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation),
there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which
kills countless ideas and splendid plans:

That the moment one definitely commits oneself,
then providence moves too.

A whole stream of events issues from the decision,
raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen
incidents, meetings and material assistance,
which no man could have dreamt
would have come his way.

A repeated thought that I find in many of my spiritual readings is that darkness cannot exist where even a small light is present. No matter how dark our world is, if we allow the smallest light of positive thought, of inspiration, of hope or faith, enter our hearts, there will be no room for darkness to take up residence.

If you need a light today, reach out and ask someone to share theirs. If you hold a light today, share it with someone who needs it. That's how light flourishes, that's how darkness is displaced.

Your reading today about light is in tune w/what I've been reading and thinking about lately, too. As we enter the dark days of winter, I guess that may only be natural. I recently saw reference made to Diwali, which is a 5-day Hindu festival of light that took place starting October 27. I know I feel a desire to light candles and oil lamps when dusk comes so early...

I do love candle light. I rarely use candles except for my meditations, because of the danger of forgetting them. I have many flashlights for power outages and they are safe and practical but lack the ambiance of good candle light.

I think tonight I will light a couple of candles and turn off the lights...and not fall asleep.

I love these posts about the beauty and the power of just a flicker of light in the darkness. I love candles myself and have lots but rarely light them, mainly for safety reasons but now and then I indulge in a candle lit room.

Candles are wonderful. I'm extra cautious though - have had a couple of near misses in the past. Such as, going to bed & leaving one burning in the living room - found it still burning the next morning. On a wooden table, no less.
I can't believe people used real candles on their Christmas trees. They only left them lit about 30 mins. though.

I love the candle and light discussion - thank you.
So often here at SR - you all are my light.
