Ann, the serenity prayer is my 'go to' prayer, I don't think that a day goes by without I use it. That and the 'sick man' prayer.

Whatever youíre feeling, be good to yourself.
If you feel lost, be patient with yourself while you find your way.
If you feel scared, be gentle with yourself while you find the strength to face your fear.
If you feel hurt, be kind to yourself while you grieve and slowly heal.
You canít bully yourself into clarity, courage, or peace, and you canít rush self-discovery or transformation.
Some things simply take time, so take the pressure off and give yourself space to grow.

At the end of the day what really matters is that your loved ones are well,
you've done your best and that you're thankful for all you have.

Goodnight.

Good morning lovelies.

A PRECIOUS HUMAN LIFE

"Every day, think as you wake up,
Today I am fortunate to have woken up,
I am alive, I have a precious human life,
I am not going to waste it,
I am going to use all my energies to develop myself,
to expand my heart out to others,
to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings,
I am going to have kind thoughts towards others,
I am not going to get angry,
or think badly about others,
I am going to benefit others as much as I can."

Goodnight.
This applied to my day today, Daisy, I had a good visit with my once estranged brother who is doing very well in spite of Lewy Body and Parkinsons, and we had a great visit and lots of laughs of times past.

I AM grateful, for the lovely day and that we have renewed our relationship and actually like each other today.

Every night before bed whisper a prayer of thanks,
for the unknown blessings of tomorrow,
already on their way.

Goodnight xxx

That's so lovely Ann, thank you. I'm so glad your visit went well. xx

Just sharing this quote today in the hope it can help any of us who have a decision to make. xx

It can feel scary to make a big decision knowing that the future is uncertain, but we canít panic and obsess our way to clarity.
Sometimes we simply need to get out of our head and give our heart some space to find the answer.

At the end of the day,
tell yourself gently:
'I love you, you did the best you could today,
and even if you didn't accomplish all you had planned,
I love you anyway.'

I love this, Daisy. I am a natural born obsesser and need to remember to let go and trust the universe and God to bring me answers.

I need to print out some of these. Very helpful late at night & early in the morning. They'd help me find the right mindset. Otherwise, I'm all over the place.

Good morning, I'm just grateful that you find them helpful, the prayers and the quotes certainly help me come to terms with whatever life throws at me. xx

I have another quote to share this morning.

"Donít let your fear paralyze you. The scariest paths often lead to the most exciting places."

Faith is the antidote to fear. You cannot feel both at the same time. This was a refreshing lesson I learned early in recovery.

I like that Ann, it's a good one to remember.

This is something I'm concentrating on doing....

Practice the pause.
Pause before judging.
Pause before assuming.
Pause before accusing.
Pause whenever youíre about to react harshly and youíll avoid doing and
saying things youíll later regret.

Wishing you all a blessed Sunday. xxx

Ah yes, the pause. I need to practice more myself. Acting with thought instead of reacting with emotion...this has always been a struggle for me.

A classic from my treasures and one I pray often. Step 3 was the biggest step for me, it was the one that I struggled with until I finally "got" it. It is the turning point, I think, and this prayer kept me connected as I worked the steps that followed.

God, I offer myself to Thee -
to build with me
and to do with me as Thou wilt.
Relieve me of the bondage of self,
that I may better do Thy will.
Take away my difficulties,
that victory over them may bear witness
to those I would help of Thy Power,
Thy Love, and Thy Way of life.
May I do Thy will always!

That really is a classic Ann and a good one to remember. Thank you. xx

At the end of the day it's not about what you have or even what you've accomplished...
It's about who you've lifted up,
who you've made better.
It's about what you've given back.

I love Denzel Washington.

Silence, they say, is the voice of complicity.
But silence is impossible.
Silence screams.
Silence is a message,
just as doing nothing is an act.

Let who you are ring out and resonate
in every word and every deed.
Yes, become who you are.
There's no sidestepping your own being
or your own responsibility.

What you do is who you are.
You are your own comeuppance.
You become your own message.

You are the message.

Me too Ann. I love silence too, very deep that one. x

A very short quote today.

We're all capable of helping and hurting,
We're all giving at times and selfish at others.
Everyone of us has the potential for darkness and light,
so forgive others, forgive yourself,
look for light in the world and share your own.
And never forget that people can grow and change.
Never stop believing in the healing power of love and kindness,
and most importantly, never stop believing in yourself.
