No matter where you go, there you will be...and your problems. Running is not coping. Fight for your sobriety, your health, your happiness. No one else can fight it for you.

What does "eloping by myself" mean AI? Please don't hurt yourself or disappear, or whatever that means. Maybe dump your supply and go to bed. Get some rest and start fresh tomorrow.

You can't run away from alcoholism. But, you can deal with it. You were doing well, and you can get back onboard the recovery bus.

I’m with Anna, you can definitely get right back on track. If you’re still drinking now is a good time to stop, get some water, get some rest, and start anew tomorrow. ❤️

Now I’m sober, I can handle problems 10000 times better than before. Alcohol never helped me with a damn thing

Dump what you've got left and drink some water. Start again tomorrow.

I've heard a lot of people who make locational changes in the hope of stopping drinking and it never works. It's a horrible cycle to be in. You just need to find what works for you and take it day by day. Please take care.

I know that feeling. I entertained the thought of going to a place like Saudi Arabia where alcohol is prohibited. Or I can sober up and deal with my problems and the reasons I drink.

I'm certain people here have come back from much worse situations than mine so I will take inspiration from them. Sober up and try again. Most important is to never stop trying.

I know what you mean, but I’m sure such places have plenty of secret drinking dens for expats, and there’s probably not a great deal else to do in the evenings for a drinker. That sort of escape defeats the object. The point of quitting booze is to get one’s life back, and it does come back with bells and whistles on.

I don’t think AI was thinking of emigrating. He probably wants to escape problems temporarily by drinking. Looking back, he’ll hopefully realise that doesn’t work, but quitting definitely will solve a while stack of problems.

Maybe you mean you feel like eloping from yourself? I feel like that a lot of the time. But as I have to take my thoughts and emotions with me, decided it's not worth the effort, lugging all that crap from place to place. So I'm trying a new interior design for my head, so I won't feel like getting out of it with booze so much.
Hope you can find a peaceful space to lie, within yourself soon

If I were going to elope to get away from my problems, I would choose a person other than myself to elope with, because I always pack my problems in my carry on luggage.
