My mom took a nasty fall this morning and broke her hip and hit her head. She's going into surgery this afternoon and could use some prayers.

I got to the hospital about 11am and am with my dad. He told me he was proud of me for all that I'd achieved in my almost 4 years clean and it felt good that he could lean on me and know I'd be there.

Dr's said she has about a 65% chance of making it through the surgery. Those odds are decent but not great. I could use as many prayers as you can muster for her.

What a beautiful thing for your dad to say to you. I know firsthand that sometimes we don’t get the chance or the opportunity to say what needs to be said to our families, so that’s wonderful.

I’m so sorry about your mom. I don’t think people realize, unfortunately, how devastating a fall can be.

Ugh, that's rough. My dad in Missouri broke his hip right before Thanksgiving, he's 86 now. And he's always taken a lot of pride in staying fit and active too, it's been brutal. Luckily he has my mom, married over 60 years now. I'll definitely say a prayer for mom, Bulldog.
