Don't beat yourself up too much. It's pointless. Regroup and keep trying. Try doing it differently this time. Just keep at it and never ever give up trying to quit
I dont know if I agree with this. There's been plenty of times I didnt plan on a relapse and it happened. Sometimes ive find myself in a situation where the temptation was too much but before I was in the situation I mistakenedly thought I could handle it. Doesnt mean I relapsed on purpose.

I'd slack off on my recovery plan, I'd go to a place, or hang out with people, where it was likely there'd be alcohol and not have a plan...I let problems or resentments get to me, but wasn't prepared to work for a resolution....I stopped being proactive and became fatalistic again...
sure sometimes the opportunity to drink came as a surprise - but not the choice I'd all but made to drink again.
