bi-polar ?
Re: bi-polar ?
Hi ((Trish))
You were asking about Bipolar Disorder, I am Bipolar/Manic depressive, and its mainly a "mood disorder" and chemical imbalance. It can affect you in a way, that you have mood swings, "highs and Lows", and if its combined with manic depression, the way I am, it can send you into deep depressions.
But rather then my trying to explain it, I have some addresses to websites you can go to that can explain it better then I can. They are: http://www.bipolarworld.net (and) http://www.manicmoment.org
Or you can go to the top of sober recoverys homepage and click on "Help Index" and get some information that way. I hope this helps. Sorry about not getting this post out sooner, but I just noticed it this morning. Love and ((hugs)) Bonni

Symptoms vary from person to person, but common symptoms include time periods of depression and or suicidal thoughts....there's a bunch of symptoms that are depression.
In mania, people act differently. Some are very *high* and happy...very grandiose, invinsible...others can be aggitated and angry when manic. Common symptoms of mania are sexual acting out, spending money, rapid speech and thoughts , inability to sit still, insomia, plus others.
Cycles from depression can occur as frequently as a few times a day to every few months.
Hope this helps some
