RR vs AVRT

I'm sure this question is addressed on one of the many AVRT threads, but I don't really know how to search terms.

The question is what is the difference between RR and AVRT. My understanding is that AVRT is a technique used in RR, but I'm not sure that is correct. I have purchased a copy of Rational Recovery:The New Cure to Substance Addiction, as I really want to learn more about this method that seems to help many people on this forum.

I will also be taking a closer look at many of the threads posted here.

Thanks for your help.

that's correct. RR is the organization & AVRT is the technique.

Thanks, I've been reading Terminally Uniques thread on AVRT and it is really interesting. I have also ordered the RR book. Not really sure if it is my thing or not, but it never hurts to have more knowledge. Though I have a tendency of acquiring large amounts of knowledge and then not doing anything with it!! Gotta be careful about that.

Did you get RR? I re-read it again and feel that although it took me a long time to get where I am that the ideas from RR have been germinating in me for years.

Sober as a bird now.

You?
