2 Years and a total secular recovery
Hi Tursiops:
My last year of drinking, I'd switched from drinking copious amounts of wine to rye whiskey. Oddly, I was never a vodka drinker. I had a job at an isolated resort where we lived at the resort and there was no easy access to stores, so one had to bring their own alcohol supply. We worked 10 day shifts, so bringing on a couple cases of wine would be quite noticeable - so, I switched to rye and would bring a 40 oz. I found myself towards the end of the season drinking more than 40 oz in 10 days. Feeling like death warmed over most mornings. Horrible way to live.
When I left that job, I had easy access to all sorts of alcohol and I totally went off the rails.
Sure glad all that is done with forever.
