Good Morning

I want to take a moment to say thank you for the advice and support. Day 3, early in my sobriety. I am tired and shaken, but I am not drinking.

I will never drink again, and I am never changing my mind.

Peace to all.

Mac

Mac, glad to hear you say that and feel that way. I imagine you know that you will start feeling better in the next couple of days. What helped me was finding some things I wanted to do and make it less "quitting" and more of "doing something else instead.

Welcome Mac, good to have you here! You'll feel better soon, and then you'll never have to go through this again. Feel free to post your experiences and questions as you read more about AVRT-- we're here as a resource.

That's awesome, Macsmith! You are doing great! Well done. Hope you keep posting.

That's absolutely fantastic, macsmith! Please keep posting and keep us updated. Well done you!

Peace to you to, Mac. More than any other benefit from stopping drinking via AVRT, is the peace and serenity I feel. I know you will too.

I hate the words serenity. and surrender. but thats just me! I like the words overcame and never again But that's just me.

Fusion 12-09-2016 12:59 PM

Yes, Terall, I understand your aversion to the word serenity, in the context of the RGM (as I do) but truly, I didn't mean that word in the RGM context!

I'm just so happy that, after twenty plus years of drinking every, single day (save for 11 days after I stopped after reading Alan Carr's book) that I'm here now - three months sober (for ever) as a result of learning and practising AVRT.

So, yes, I feel serene and uplifted and enlightened and I want to race around SR and grab people by the hand and lead them towards what I have.......sorry if I said the wrong word.........

Thanks all! It will get better, I do know that. One question, what is RGM?

Algorithm 12-09-2016 06:13 PM

RGM = Recovery Group Movement

There are various variations of recovery groups, but 12-Step is the largest, of which there are several off-shoots for various addictions and other assorted problems.

ATI = Addiction Treatment Industry

Rehabs, addiction counseling, etc.
