s big book thumper also knows that the book says that AA is not the only way nor is it for everyone.

do what you need to do to stay stopped!

I'm late in responding, but thank you so much to the OP and everyone who posted.

I've been struggling with this issue for the past few weeks. Not sure what I'll do. I want to make sure I have face-to-face support. I think a group gives me some sense of accountability and support. The NA groups that I go to are more flexible than AA groups that I've seen. But I still disagree with so much in the 12 steps. Although there are also aspects that I like in NA & the 12 steps.

My current plan is to try other groups (SMART, LifeRing) and see if a combination helps. I've also gone long periods of time comfortably sober without groups.
