Post I Survived Halloween 2014 without a Drop!

This is my 3rd weekend in a row where I completely avoided alcohol and got some much needed work done. This past weekend was especially difficult because I almost always go out on Halloween and do some bar hopping.

WTG! Halloween is my favorite holiday and I've always gone and dressed up and gone bar hopping, this year I spent it on the couch watching movies with my hubs.

Every milestone like this one adds another tool, another resource in reserve when the next challenge comes along to be met. First Hallowe'en, first this, first that, and soon you realize that it doesn't really matter what the calendar says, or what has happened before, you are solidly permanently sober.

Getting important stuff done instead of drinking can become doing fun stuff instead of drinking if you aren't careful. Just kidding there, that's what should happen, what will happen. Keep adding stuff you like to do and sometimes that you need to do, and you will wonder why you kept up the drinking for so long. It is such a waste.

You are on the right track there, Bookerman. Well done.

Thanks for the encouragement guys, tbh it wasn't easy. I avoided social media for the most part and worked on my assignments. Many of my friends were out and about but I really had little desire to end up far from home with no ride and a killer hangover in the morning.
