Alan Lightman on Science and (Secular) Spirituality Came across the today, and probably going to try and get his book. I like his understanding of faith. Godliness in the Known and the Unknowable: Alan Lightman on Science and Spirituality | Brain Pickings Love this: "Indeed, this tolerance for the unanswered — and possibly the unanswerable — is not only at the heart of creativity and the secret of happiness, but also, Lightman argues, the essence of faith." Also, here is Alan Watts on faith and belief: Alan Watts on the Difference Between Belief and Faith | Brain Pickings Will probably get his book The Wisdom of Insecurity. Anyone read it? What did you think? |
I've read none of these but I'll be checking them out. Just ten seconds ago I was thinking about returning to my old church called Church of Religious Science. (Science of Mind) These are similar possibly? I think belief is something you have and faith is something you live, a verb, as in faithing. Thanks for these SoberJennie! |
No idea about that church, Oldsoul. I'm probably going to read the Alan Watts first. |
