I recently been seein smart recovery , im curious in what way this differs from the standard 12 step dealz. Do they promote powerlessness over drink, god or higher power, helpingnothers,? Defects an personal invrntoriez of self. Ect. Just interested in expanding my options.

I think reading the websites themselves may help you work out where each programme is coming from :)
They may be radically different to what you're used to.

SR rules prevent us from discussing 12 step programs in the Secular Connections forum, so I'll just say this - if the alternatives promoted the same thing as the 12-step programs they wouldn't be very good alternatives. :)

Definitely give the link Dee provided a look. Also Google Rational Recovery/AVRT. A link to that isn't provided by SR, but there are quite a few people in Secular Connections using that technique.
