Yes, a life free of addiction is wonderful. You can have it too!

I did try tapering initially, there is absolutely no right or wrong way, just my experience was I was teasing myself allowing just a few when I know fine well I would just want more and I just had to quit. Just my experience.

I saw the Dr... So glad I did. I needed to. I never, ever, have to drink again.

I've been checking this thread to see how it went for you with the doctor. It sounds like things went well.

I'm so glad you went!

You just performed a death-defying act, you saw your Dr! I was scared to death to have that conversation with my Dr, and when I finally said that I drank too much, 25 units a day, she replied, you mean per week, Nope, I don't. I carefully watched her face for any sign of disappointment or disgust or surprise. She was stone solid, and just gave me a reassuring smile and patted my arm. There was no judgement at all in her face. We can fix this, she said. You are going to be OK.

And I am. So are you, CheeseQ, you can do this, you are going to be OK. Onward!
