Simple fact
 

The simple fact that I want to get drunk when I drink should be a good enough reason not to drink.

Should have been enough of a clue for me as well, but it took me a few years to get the hint. I'm just finishing up 2 weeks with no drinking, and looking forward to a hangover-free weekend.
