i cant do it,,i just cant,,,,
i blipped up again,,last sat nite,,,im thru with all this,,and i was doing well,,i just cant see a light anymore,,,help??? xx

You can do it! Refuse to give up!
Two weeks ago I felt like a hopeless case, I couldn`t give up for long. I`ve gone much longer now and my mind set is changing to be stronger everyday-just don`t believe the voice that says it`s/you`re hopeless-it`s a lie.
You can be sober - for good. :-)

For so of us this is a long, and sometimes rocky road, Cleo.

Think about what you've been doing for your recovery and think about other things you can add to that.

There's no secret to recovery really IMO - you just have to make sure you're doing more to stay sober than you are to stay drinking.

I blipped up more than I"d like to remember but I kept trying and now have over three years sober. It can be done, you just have to want to be sober more than you want to drink.

Quitting usually starts with some kind of internal struggle, and it can be difficult not to get caught up in all that while we're trying to do our best to make good with ourselves.

To successfully quit, we must get past this initial struggle. I want to tell you this struggle is absolutely able to be put behind us, in many different ways. Choices can be made for the purpose of getting past the struggle and into a life where struggle is all about quality of life and not about drinking anymore.

Quitting does work to get us into the game, and how we play makes all the difference. I always play to win. I'm all stocked up with enough plans that ended up going nowhere, I'm not needing more, so knowing myself and how I want to live has a direct relationship with quitting.

Quitting is experienced as easy and not easy all at the same time. We can choose to make easy happen, in our own ways. We can. I did. You can too.

Don't give up.

Cleo, I know how you feel. I don't want to go back there either. It is excruciatingly painful for me. I like what RobbyRobot said, it's easy and not easy. I know, for myself that picking up or not picking up expends the say amount of energy. It does get better and some days it doesn't feel like it, but it's better than being in that hell hole of addiction. And it takes some time, so be patient and hang in there.

I'm assuming you're not in hospital or jail, so it's not that big a deal. Dissect it and use it for your benefit.

CleoHere is a thought I just had just the other day, I hope it helps you. I'm thinking everything we deal with like this Sobriety thing is about "attitude." Attitude determines our Altitude. Even if situations have got us down, we can change it with our approach. Our attitude is such a little thing that makes a big difference. You know everyday may not be good, but there is something good in everyday. Like Sobriety. If we don't get everything we want, think of the things we don't get that we don't want. Like a DUI, a hangover, anxiety, depression, etc. For me, in reality getting drunk was twice as much work as it is to stay Sober. When I was preparing to drink, I would literally puke my guts, such a feeling of hopelessnes. Pure misery! Now I have hope, because I'm Sober. We should look at every situation as an opportunity to prove our strength. Smile at it and Stay SoberCleo. I seen something on a post that really stuck. "Alcoholism is like a jail cell with a key on the inside." All you have to do is turn the key and free yourself. I'm praying for you.
