My Big Plan

I'm new to AVRT, but so thankful it's in my life now. It's as though I've had an epiphany, an aha! moment... call it what you will. It's hard to explain but very freeing/empowering. I have the strength within me, and I will not go back to living that way.

I don't drink or use coke anymore and I am never changing my mind. I know what the results will be. I will not keep living like that. Its an unhappy vicious cycle that has taken too many years of my life away from me. No matter what emotion or situation life throws at me I will choose to live a sober, happy life. This is my life.

Many of us know EXACTLY what you mean. No explanation necessary.

Congrats and welcome to the secular section.

Yup, Zooey, I know exactly what you mean by that feeling of profound relief. Not only will I never return to drinking, the misery of hangovers, depression, guilt and shame is also behind me. And I did it, too. Who'd have thunk?

I am very happy for you in your understanding and your decision, and send you a great big Congratulations! Have a Booyah! too, because this officially makes you a BadAss. Well done.

Waking up each morning without a all day long hangover, climbing into bed at night sober...working around the yard with the wife and so much more. I hear ya Zoey....to give up all this...no thanks..

Thanks all. I know there is undoubtedly going to be some tough times ahead, but it's a relief finding a process that makes sense for me.
