Desensitizing the Beast
 

After years of indulging IT, I decided to stare IT in IT's rheumy eyes and make it blink. (Note that I've chosen a Sunday when I couldn't go buy booze even if I wanted to)

I've had Bar Rescue on the tv all afternoon. Nonstop booze action! Drinking, drunking, drink recipes, booze commercials, all the glamour and shineyness of my formerly beloved bar scene.

From the cellar:

I found that I could stare my beast down by calling its name. It became embarrassed, it seemed, the helpless pitiful lying cheating miserable piece of cr@p it is. It can never be more than that.
