Does anyone know about SOS Recovery?

So, does anyone know about SOS Revovery.

Website: drug - alcohol - addiction - SOS-Save Our Selves - Non 12 Step

Has anyone been to a meeting?

I'm an atheist and because of my lack of belief in a god has caused me to feel like an outcast in AA and I've been considering going a meeting by SOS.

So, does anyone know about this group? Ever been? What's it like?

(this board is for a secular 12 approach to recovery, and they claim to be a non-12 step approach, so perhaps this is posted on the wrong board)

I have no experience with it bu this is the link SR has regarding SOS:

S.O.S. Secular Organizations for Sobriety

Here is the link to more programs. It doesn't have RR/AVRT but it's fairly thorough:

This most certainly is the right spot for SOS discussions. Secular non 12-step recovery, like SOS, SMART, CBT, REBT, CORE, AVRT and so forth, all belong here. The secular 12 step forum is just next door.

If you meetings are what you are looking for, try as many flavors as you can find. If you are going to quit, you might as well learn as much as you can, and draw support wherever you can find it.

Thanks for moving it D.

What I posted in parenthesis in my OP was an edit, added after I posted.

Based on the acronyms you listed, is there like a, you know, secular sobriety for dummies book, or a Spark Notes version.

Aspired, if you look for 'secular sobriety', most sources will point to SOS. If you want a simple search phrase, try 'alternatives to AA' or 'alternatives to 12 step'.

You can research those acronyms I listed there, one by one, very easily.
