I have heard others report of "Drunk Dreams" here in the forums. I had never experienced one, and really didn't know what to think of others experience with them.

Last night I had the most horrible set of dreams. I swear it brought my entire drinking career together for one horrible night. Events in my life that I have tried to compartmentalize and keep separate for damage control all came togther in one horriffic collision. It felt so incredibly real. When i woke up I was thrilled to know that I had done all those things I dreamt of during the night.

Thankfully the only outcome is that I am very tired. I think it strengthened my resolve to keep on moving forward without drinking (not that it was weakened...but you get my point).

Does anyone else experience these? Is there AV in there? I would guess in a dream state the beast does not exist but not sure.

I've only had one of those "real" dreams. I wrote about it somewhere here on SR. It was early on in my sobriety. I do remember the realness. I was scared, but after getting myself fully awake, I could appreciate the blessing the dream was... plus folks here supplied some feedback that was so helpful.

I am glad I haven't had another. The fear in the dream and immediately after waking was intense. But, it was a good dream in the sense it reinforced my commitment.
