Getting really tired of this.

Just found out that a friend died.
Not sure how yet.

I have had so many friends and acquaintances die recently that its insane.
All of them in their 40s! The last one was only two weeks ago.

I need to keep in mind this is ANOTHER reason I am no longer drinking. :c021:
I don't want to leave my kids without a father.

I feel ill.

So sorry for your loss. Don't know if your friend died from addiction or not, but I do know that many, many lives are lost to it. Sometimes it's not stated, as in the case of my very dear friend that died of "cardiac arrest". Yep...smoking crack can make your heart stop. Makes me feel ill too. Sickening. My thoughts are with you.

I'm also sorry to hear about this. Have you found out what happened?

When I was younger I had a number of significant people die at young ages. My heart goes out to you. What I leanred was to "sieze the day". You can honor their memory by doing today what you can instead of thinking some day (hug)

my thoughts are with you through this time hug

Supposedly a stroke. So many years of drugs and alcohol, I don't know for sure. There's been four people that I grew up with who have died in the last year, all of "natural causes", but the heart and other organs can only take so much, you know. Makes me think a lot about the crowd I ran with. All dead in their 40s.

In the past two years I have had five friends who suddenly died and who were struggling with being clean and sober. All of them were petite women, and all of them were in their late forties or fifties. One of them fell off of her bicycle and hit her head while riding down the street.

Of course it was more than just drinking and they were often mixing pills with alcohol. I thought it was quite a coincidence until I recently read the following story:
