I will not use drugs or smoke today because I have hurt my family so much, I REFUSE to do it again. Because my daughter deserves better and so do I.

Because I don't want to wake up parched and with a spinning head in the middle of the night.
Because I'll have two weeks sober if I don't.
Because I went to the gym today and don't want to undo the good work.
So that tomorrow is a good day with a great morning.
Because after 30 years I need to stop drinking and enjoy my life.

Because after 9.5 months sober the idea of being drunk and sickly hungover on a regular basis sounds incomprehensible. I honestly do not know how I handled anything.

Because I have no need to. Facing my problems, dealing with them as an adult, and coming out the other side is far more pleasurable, in the long run, then cowering behind a substance.

I am incredibly depressed and am almost always that way.

However, I wont' drink today or any day because that will make me feel worse and I have no desire to do so.
