A big glass of icewater, and pushups.

Icewater (with creatine) and a longing to get some muscles moving compelled me to to do some pushups. It's one of those small things you can do help dispel the madmonkey. I would rather have lifted but the garage is freezing and I'd get hungry (it's late).

Sounds good. I picked my weights up this morning for the first time in weeks (5kg don't laugh is for high reps and I'm a teacher and a girl :)) burned the hell out of my triceps, but I'm only on day 3 so I guess the booze has something to answer for there, ha!

What's creatine?

Still xxx

5kg isn't bad for high reps and it's much better than not picking them up at all. :) The booze is a bust, after 12 months of sobriety I could lift more than I ever had in the past, and I was shooting for the 1000lb club.

Creatine is naturally produced in the human body from amino acids primarily in the kidney and liver. It is transported in the blood for use by muscles. Approximately 95% of the human body's total creatine is located in skeletal muscle.[4]
Creatine is not an essential nutrient, as it is manufactured in the human body from L-arginine, glycine, and L-methionine.[5]
In humans and animals, approximately half of stored creatine originates from food (mainly from meat). A study, involving 18 vegetarians and 24 non-vegetarians, on the effect of creatine in vegetarians showed that total creatine was significantly lower than in non-vegetarians. Since vegetables do not represent the primary source of creatine, vegetarians can be expected to show lower levels of directly derived muscle creatine. However, the subjects happened to show the same levels after using supplements.[6] Given the fact that creatine can be synthesized from the above mentioned amino acids, protein sources rich in these amino acids can be expected to provide adequate capability of native biosynthesis in the human body.[5]
What's 'Still xxx'? :P

Wow. I've never seen 1000lb ! And thanks for the info, I like science. So I guess as a meat eater, I'm somehow better than vegetarians. HA! They always make out it's the other way around :) (I'm gonna get some heat for this... uh oh)

My name's StillSleeping but it takes too long to type, so everyone calls me Still. And xx is, like, a friendly way of signing off over here. Didn't mean to frighten you. With my noodle arms. :D

1000lbs is just the sum total of the major compound lifts- (squat/press/deadlift/bench press) a nice goal to have.

If you do compound lifts - full body movements - you'll find that your body gets a superior endocrine response- ie- you will grow and heal faster than single lever movements (like curls) etc.
And yeah- humans are meant to be omnivores. If you want to be strong you'll keep that diet balanced.
Im headed out now... can't wait! actually, thats a lie- but the sauna, serotonin high and burger will be worth it.

congratulations on your effort!

He he! It's like making friends with Terminators. I just ate my body weight in Lindor chocolate, in front of Family Guy, after eating meatloaf. Do not congratulate me too much! :P

Bob36 03-07-2012 02:12 AM

Sober- and still good! you can't escape the positivity..

stillsleeping 03-07-2012 02:17 AM

Bob36 03-07-2012 02:50 AM

you're English- you are excused from positivity in the name of irony.

cry your ass off, eat, exercise and live. you'll be fine. post a bit and feel the support of people who are like you- you will win. you have to because the alternative sucks too badly.

meatloaf has bread in it- Im really trying to be nonjudgmental here- give me a break... ******* meatloaf..

Bob's nearly correct, it's the total of the three major compounds, and even though I was close I couldn't pull it off. :(

Meatloaf and chocolate? lmao :P
