Lifering meetings?

Does anyone know what goes on at these meetings? Are they receptive to newcomers? Will I have to speak?

Like any meeting they are different depending on location or group. That being said, I have been involved with Lifering for years. There are no meetings where I am located currently, but I use the online email list and have been on it since before it was Lifering and a branch of SOS. They are very receptive to newcomers. Whether you speak or not is your choice as is also the things you do to stay sober. The only "rule" is that Lifering is abstinence based just like AA. It has nothing to do with moderating anything, but instead not doing it no matter what. Check out http://www.unhooked.com if you have not yet done so. This is the website with more information.

I went to a few LifeRing meetings. I liked them a lot. People were very nice and welcoming. It was a very small meeting (5 people). Everyone had a chance to talk, but people can pass if they don't want to talk.

I liked their focus on everyone developing an individual sobriety plan.

If you go, I hope you like it!
