I will not drink today because I don't like feeling the temptation of wanting to go out and buy vodka and I want to get rid of these feelings, or at least reduce them. Plus. I have to drive 50 miles this evening, so cannot be drunk.

Today is over and I didn't drink today because.... I was busy getting groceries and enjoying my kids. I like remembering my evenings with them clearly in the morning.
So I guess I'll do this again tomorrow!

I won't drink today because, even though I really wanted to yesterday, somehow I managed not to. Also, I have lots of things to look forward to today and want to get a lot of work done before I do the other, more fun, things.

I will not drink today because I didn't yesterday and, even though I am feeling down, depressed and sad today (sorry to be depressing), I know I can get through it without alcohol - it isn't the answer for me right now. Hugs are.

No need to apologize, feelingdown. Being a bit depressed is fairly normal, and SC is here so you can post that rather than drinking.
And so.... hugs to you!
I won't drink or drug today because I am just too lazy at the moment.

I didn't drink yesterday because, even though it was a [email protected] day and I fancied some wine, my lazines kicked in and I couldn't be bothered to go and buy any. LOL. Ultimately good - yes, laziness can be a blessing at times.
I won't drink today because
1. I am going to be far too busy
2. I have to make a non-alcoholic trifle tonight for a 'Body Shop' party I am going to tomorrow and I want it to look and taste super-duper and
3. The monkey on my shoulder whispering in my ear 'you want vodka, you need vodka' is surely getting a massive kick up the butt from me. So there!

I won't drink or drug today because a year ago today an acquaintance of mine went to the hospital with failing liver and kidneys due to his alcohol use. A fifth of vodka or more every day. I didn't especially like this person, in fact he was the reason I quit hanging out with one of my friends, but it scared me that it could get that bad, and it made me happy I was sober.

By the way, this thread really helps me. It's like setting an intention for the day. Whenever I start to feel lost in my day, I come back to my intention.
We do this in yoga class. At the beginning of class, you set an intention for your practice. The teacher then reminds you of "your intention" at some point in the class after you have totally forgotten about it.
So this is a good idea!

I will not drink today because I cannot ever drink again and I'm comfortable and happy with it.
staying sober has let me out of the prison I made for myself and has improved my life beyond measure.
