I will not drink/drug today because...(Pt.2)
I won't get an accurate medical diagnosis from either my neurologist or my psychiatrist if I pick up.
I won't have the pride that comes from my annual sobriety date on October 5th.

Because being sober has brought me back into the land of the living...
and saved me money... and got me driving 6 months ago at age 45 (!)... and a car! Which meant I could drive 400KM and visit my 10 year old son... and take him to an air show yesterday! ...and go for a helicopter flight! "Best day of my life Dad" he said. That IS priceless! I want more days like that. That is why I won't take drugs again.

Because I've got better things to do with my day than waste it getting drunk. Today I'm facilitating a workshop for refugees with PTSD and then having lunch with friends at the seaside and a walk on the beach afterwards.
With each year of sobriety I am doing more of the things I wanted to do but never did while drinking.
