Because I Have realized that drinking wine only looks sophisticated because it comes in nice Stemware.

Love it, LaFemme! My grandmother bought very nice stemware and used it exclusively as water glasses (she thought regular water tumblers looked boring, the stemware was much prettier). I never once saw her drink alcohol, and my sister told me she was an alcoholic. No one else has ever confirmed this and my sister has a history of saying all sorts of things like that with no basis in fact so I'm not sure what to think of that. But now I have her stemware and use it to drink water. :)

I will not drink today because my life is finally simple with meaning. Sure there are many ways to measure easy or difficult. I don't know all of them but I know this. I no longer have the fear that I once had. I feel I have purpose and I march that direction.

I will not drink today because I want to get all my weekend chores done and then relax with a book... and neither cleaning nor reading is a good task to do drunk.

...because I on a path to regain to peace of mind. That path becomes invisible if I use.

Because if I drink booze I'm sure to lose.

Because I finally feel peaceful with sobriety.

And because it would hurt my body and my whole being.

...because today I will accept things are they are. In this moment, everything is exactly as it should be, because the universe is as exactly as it should be. To struggle against this moment, is to struggle against the entire universe.

I am responsible for exactly where and who I am. Today I will not blame events, people, or myself for this situation. Every problem is an opportunity for benefit and growth.

Today I will give up my need to defend my point to view to others. I will listen to all points of view, and not be rigidly attached to to any of them.

Because I can follow Mad Men better if I'm sober. And because I'm happy being a non-drinker!

Because I ran into the guy who ran my residency program 9 years ago and I remembered all the dreams I had and I an still accomplish!

Because I'm doing so well I won't do anything to screw it up.:)

Because I want to like myself, and alcohol abuse is the first in a long list of flaws I need to overcome.

...because I've got things to do and drugging is not in the plan.

because it's a stupid wast of time, money, and most importantly JOY!

... because I hate getting drunk dialed, and find it horribly embarrassing that I was the perpetrator on a number of occasions.
