Love the reset button, liquorandndrugs!
I won't drink or drug today because I've got a cold and I feel really crumby and I don't like it. I can barely breathe, like all those times smoking various substances. It's so not cool. And I'm kinda grumpy because I'm sick, and in a way it definitely feels like coming down. Also since I'm grumpy I think I'll just not drink or drug to spite my ex. No reason, he's just a good target when I am grumpy since he's not around to defend himself and I can happily feel like he's a rat [email protected] without offending anyone
There. I feel better. I remain one more dopeless hope feind! Happy drugless evening everyone!

I will not drink today because I've come so far being sober, I actually like myself now, and don't want to go back to hating myself and wishing I were dead.
I take better care of myself and my dogs and my home and don't want to go back to that Dark Place.

I will not drink today because my blood pressure today is 102/57, down from 140s/90s after just 18 days sober. Next week I go back to my doctor for another LFT (alcoholic hepatitis). For once, I can't wait to be stuck with a needle and don't fear the results.
(Yes, I'm a chronic lurker here. Reading this forum made me realize it's far easier to abstain than try to moderate as I suck at math.)

...because last night I was CORRECT. I had 3 people at work, all of whom outrank me in both position and experience, telling me I was wrong and this morning at our morning meeting I didn't have to say anything, I just smiled and let them imagine I was saying "Told ya so." Never would have had the courage or energy to stick to my guns when I was using, and I probably wouldn't have had enough wits to make the right call in the first place. Gawd it feels good to be clean and sober!
