I love watching people catch their garages on fire trying to fry frozen turkeys !! |

I've never been a big fan of fried foods. I hate how the oil sorta coats my mouth when I eat greasy food. Tis why I avoid fast food as well, even the grilled stuff. But I've never tried a fried turkey, only heard they are good. Never been to a Thanksgiving or whatever with a fried turkey available. Never even heard of it until I moved to Oklahoma, actually, so for a while I thought it was a regional quirk. I keep hoping I'll have the opportunity to try it though. Someday... someday. |
The key to any good bird(turkey, chicken, capon) is brining it first. Turkeys MUST be brined if you want em tasting good. Fried turkey is good cuz it sears the juices inside fast. You gotta do it at the right temp or it'll be black on the outside and raw on the inside. I use my Big Green Egg for turkey. |
