I recently found a local SMART group and have been attending f2f meetings sporadically. The group leaders are very sharp and good at helping others identify the auto-responses in their thinking.

Made me realize how much I apologize for irrelevant stuff, and all the "should" statements I've been making/thinking.

"Stop 'shoulding' on yourself!"

Hi!! I'm going to my first SMART Recovery meeting this week (as long as it doesn't snow too much... in which case I'll try next week!)

I'm excited to see that there is an alternative to AA for face to face meetings in my area.

I tried AA briefly last fall and really did not feel comfortable. I hope I like SMART better --- will report back!!!

Anything to report Jane? I'm also looking into SMART and interested in your experience.
