Alera, I'll be thinking about you. Head injuries are terrifying, my sister had one and just barely lived. You are in my thoughts. Take care of yourself and your family.

Lenina 11-02-2009 06:48 PM

Alera,

I've added your cousin and you to my list for good thoughts. It's my version of praying, I will be thinking of you both.

Love,

Lenina

Lost my cousin last night. Good atheist he was, he is an organ donor. Since the injury only affected his head, he will on life support until they test and harvest his organs. To do that they will need to transfer his body tomorrow then remove the life support mechanism. Thank you all for the good thoughts. They are helping me through this tough time.

Alera, I'm so sorry. Still thinking about you, sending positivity your way.

Hugs all around.

So sorry to hear your news Alera, it's a tragic reminder that life is short and uncertain and we owe it to ourselves and our loved ones to live as well as we are able.

I hope you have a lot of support around you at this terrible time x

Checking in...I'm very sorry for your loss Alera, but you can be very proud of your cousin he is saving others, and he'll live in their hearts too.

Quick check-in. Had a rough exam today. Harder than the last one, which I thought was the hardest test I've ever taken. Glad it's over. I was musing about the fact that even just a year ago I would have been high last night, taken the test today, and probably had a beer as soon as I got home, "because I need to relax after that exam." Tonight I'm eating stew.

It's going to work out.

shockozulu 11-06-2009 04:58 PM

I hate those exams gneiss. The stew sure sounds good. My cousin is having a memorial next week, and I'd love to go. However, its open bar and I'm not going to drive seven hours to watch people get loaded to "celebrate" the life of another. I doubt most of the stories told will make much sense by the end of the second hour anyway.
