So I was huffing gas fumes in the garage and then had to make it into the living room without looking too fu(ked-up to watch the Monkeeys.

Funny thing is I didn't know about drugs or alcohol...yet.

Soul Asylum's entire album Grave Dancer's Union is sorta like this for me. It came out in 1993 or 1994 and it got me through some rough stuff as a teenager. Runaway Train was constantly on the radio and I latched onto it and bought the CD.

Later, trying to get off drugs, Cross Canadian Ragweed's album Soul Gravy got me through it. Which is weird since there's a song on there about smoking meth. But some of their other songs like Sick & Tired and Pay were really helpful. I don't know why I fell in love with this CD, it came out several years before, didn't often hear it on the radio.

Untouchable Face by Ani Difranco, the Johnny Cash version of Hurt, The Well, Near to You, & Almost Lover by A Fine Frenzy. And many, many more...music is a huge part of my existence & helps keep me (relatively) sane.

So this is one of my favourite "emotional" songs, and when I go to look for it on youtube it's copyright protected in the UK, so I find this, it's been upped by a German guy obviously in the hope that his girl won't leave him...

awww.

I'm a pretty emotionless person I think alcohol deadened me and I haven't really recovered. I can't even remember the last time I cried, oh wait yes I can about 18 months ago when my mom died. But 'Love story' by Taylor Swift and "Viva La Vida' by Coldplay both make me very happy! they make me want to dance.

(for vivid... YouTube - Ani Difranco-As Is )

I was always more partial to 'Gravel' myself, but that entire album is very emotional for me. To this day I cannot listen to Pulse... Long story, I'll tell you sometime over a rootbeer.. ((vivid))

Nice !! I remember Green Jello doing that song. I did find some GWAR on youtube but I'm afraid that SR might think Oderus Urungus' "fish" was a weiner.
