Changes.....one at a time.... I have many goals, some large some small, that I have thought about for quite some time. Some I have put some effort into, others have been to scary to go near. I plan on using this thread to log my progress. Since I tend to overwhelm myself by starting too many goals at once I will only work on one goal at a time until that one is second nature. Here is a list of goals that will probably be added to as time goes on. Wake up and go to sleep the same time everyday, (mostly). To use my Pilates DVD everyday that I dont workout otherwise. Really workout 3 times a week (or more if I feel like it). To drink 8 glasses of water a day. Eat regularly through out the day. Planned meals and snacks. To study every other day for at least an hour. Make a budget, plan it out, work it. Plan something FUN once a week. Thats it for now. If I could just get these down...WOW how great it would feel! So it may seem simple but my first goal is gonna be SLEEP! All so important, without it none of this other stuff is gonna have a chance! lol Goal: Strictly for at least a week to start, fall asleep no later than 10:30pm Wake up at 7:00 am This is starting tomorrow of course since its already 12:40 am right now. Helpful things.... I will exercise if I need to get myself tired for the bedtime but it will be only to facilitate my first goal, there will be no judgments made onmy part as to weather or not I HAVE to exercise.(ok J?) lol Hot tea at night Lights off at least half hour before actual bedtime Hot tea in the morning Hot shower in the morning Ok...starts tonight at 10 PM...wish me luck |
Good Luck VS, these all seem like achievable goals and I think that is important. If you are anything like me you want to change everything right now. I have also started to try and change simple things (i.e. get up and dressed in the morning instead of spending all day in my pjs). Remember to appreciate your achievements no matter how small, I know I always tend to dismiss anything I achieve and think I should be doing even more. Lol I wonder what it is like to like and value yourself. |
viv...do you mind a suggestion??? ok..hope you said it is ok (grin) Maybe make the goal to "be in bed" by certain time, not "fall asleep"...cause you can control one, but not the other so you can succede Also, on excersise..sometimes it gets the adrieniline going and makes sleep harder..so play with that one al little You are soooo methodical :) |
Okieeeee......SO its 1158pm.... I layed down at 1030 ...thought about alot...memories even from like middle school!!?? I have no idea what is up with that. So my next plan of attack is to try again in about a half hour...regardless of how long it takes me to get to sleep I am getting up at 7...I will not nap tomorrow...I will use toothpicks if I have to..I will not sleep till 1030 tomorrow night! I will win! er....right? lol |
Viv, those are excellent goals! Good luck with them. As for falling asleep... well... I've been in bed since about 1:00, it's now almost 6:00 and I have not slept one wink. No idea why, but so much for getting my homework done on Sunday. |
yeah so...was up till 3 am.... Slept til 1030...not exactly the plan! Will try again tonight, will also take my medication earlier in the morning to see if that will help. |
I feel your pain, viv. I got to work @ 8:30 and fell asleep on the couch until noon. Right. I'm sure that was totally the best thing to do. Once again, I appreciate the ridiculous opportunity afforded by crappy grad student jobs to sleep on the couch and get paid for it. |
Well its 203 am....yep...no sleep yet...grrrr...maybe this shouldnt be my first goal? |

Well J ..... the kittyflowers are off duty or something, so dont feel too bad about your elephants. 1220am... sigh....Feelin crappy and this not reaching my goal isn't helping at all. Thanks for the link Carol....I sleep enough...just not at the time I would like to. Its impossible to go to bed at 1030pm if you got up at 11am. Yeah now I have this thread here to remind me about how I am not reaching my goal. Sorry I am feelin a bit woes me tonight. Tomorrow is another day! |
Ok so the sleeping thing isnt happening right now and...for right now thats ok with me. I had a few rough days...actually went back to bed after my shower today and slept till 4pm! So not likely that I will sleep anytime soon tonight. and thats ok..I am feeling somewhat better so I will just be grateful for that for now and call it good. Seems like when I try at one goal something more important comes up. Like for the past few days concentrating on my sanity seemed to take precedent over what time I went to bed! lol Well I will try again tomorrow. Thats all we can do. I am thankful for the sleep I got today. |
So I actually went to bed at 11 last night! YEAH! and I slept till 930am BOOO! So I am going back to the Doctor in the morning. Just to double check that everything is ok. 10hrs ? Seriously? But on a happy note I did sleep "normal hours" YEAH! So hopefully...around 11 tonight I will slllleeeeppppy! If not I will ask huzzy to hit me with a sleepy stick! :twak: When I get this situated I will start on another goal! Keep your fingers crossed! |

Okie... two nights ago....bed at 2 am up at 7 am Last night bed approx...12 am up at 8 am Tonight will be a third! I was really tired today so I think I can do it! |
YEAH! Went to bed before huzzy last night AND got up at 715! The first normal schedule day I have had and I am not even tired! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! :scoregood :c032: |
GREAT ! Oh my rice looks bad, both of them, actually the "idiot" rice maybe even looks better, I probably shouldn't have abandonned them. I'll keep up another week just to see if anything "better" happens, but for the moment they are both pretty gross. |
