I'm going to class now, and tornadoes or not, no biggie. The classroom is in the basement.

Wow. No biggie?

You should live in West Virginia. It's pretty boring here. Yeah, sometimes there's flooding (for some)....or a decent snow event (not too often...depends upon which part of the state you live in)....and rarely fires (sothern part)....but usually there's a whole lotta nothing going on.

I'd sh!t a brick to see a tornado. That'd be fun....I'd get pictures. I want to go on one of those tornado tours. A bit too much money for me, though...

No biggie since the classroom was in the basement. If you're underground, you're reasonably safe.

Sure, you don't have to worry about anything pesky, like say, building collapse.

We get some decent thunderstorms, but nothing like the whoppers you get.

I like storms...they excite and scare me. I'm crapping my pants at the same time I'm like "Holy bananas, did you see that!"

Hahaha. Sure, sure. I'll take my chances in the basement, vs. outside with the flying debris and spinning vortex.

See there is a reason I live in Oregon! I moved to N Carolina for 9 months..a day after I got there we had a tornado warning! I was like GREAT! See here in Oregon natural disasters are not real common, no tornadoes, no earthquakes (although we are supposed to have one that would make you teeth fall out), no hurricanes etc etc

I LOVE Oregon!

We could use a Tornado or maybe just a big wind storm that knocks a few hundred trees down. Both my wife and son work for Hydro and are trying to save for different things. Need I say more?
Sadly, all we get is more than our share of snow but it doesn't affect me much since I live in the underground. I can get almost anywhere without ever having to go outside.

I think Bam beat me to it, but... Mt. Hood lurks on your doorstep. That's an active volcanic zone. Why, just yesterday Mt. Redoubt in Alaska went off, and that's the same converging plate margin that causes Mt. Hood, Mt. Ranier, etc.

Rounding the bases, sprinting in for the home stretch! A whizzing bullet incoming from left field. She slides into home plate as the ball reaches the catcher's glove! Is she safe, or out?

I Prefer Compassion too.

I'm glad I don't have the 'tough love' variety of addiction treatment in my f2f world. I guess the 'boot camp' approach to recovery works for some. You know...having a drill Sargent in your face every waking hour...shaping up alcoholics by breaking then down first.

Anywho just some things to be grateful for today.

:ghug<---- not allowed in boot camp recovery...LOL

Thanks Zen I needed that.
I have been working on my tolerance so I have been reading every post in every section to see what my reaction is, why I react that way, and then try to put myself in the posters shoes and try to figure out why they would post that both intellectually and emotionally.
It is helping me become more tolerant but it is hard to not respond and defend the person that is clearly under attack.

Anyways I needed to see something more positive and that group hug did the job.
After I get this tolerance thing under control I think I will stick to the secular section and my 2 support threads.

Can we do another group hug? :ghug

I'm with this group hug thing..
Boot camp does not work for me either.. I think I have done enough boot camp thinking within my own self to last more than a lifetime.. Tenderness, acceptance, support, kindness, .. these are the things that are healing me and keeping me sober and I get them all from YOU

thanks!
