Please explain pirate fish
 

Can someone please explain how a fish skeleton with a pirate patch is related to the secular/atheist/agnostic community? This is all new to me.

I'm not sure why the image isn't showing up for you... the fish is along the same lines as the Darwin fish, a parody.

Teachers who teach kids to think critically about evolution are 9 times out of 10 teaching them to doubt evolution. You're supposed to teach kids to think critically bout everything-not just evolution. It goes without saying. btw, I've taught kids and adults, so this is an important issue to me.

I'm glad I went to a school where my science teacher explained evolution in clear terms. No BS. Any teacher that tries to put their own beliefs into a high school bio class needs to be fired. These are impressionable kids who may walk away from the class thinking evolution isnt a sound theory. And thats totally not the case.

Anyway, kids are not at the stage where they know enough to "question" evolution. Its hard enough to teach them concepts like natural selection without introducing them alternative views to evolution.

I've had and have stickers on my car that would probably get me stoned or burned at the stake where you live... :salook:

I have had people try to remove them and/or scribble them out with markers... LOL!

OK I kind of get it but I am still not drawing the connection with the pirate. Its all good though.

I agree with Eroica on teaching, we can all hope but let's not hold our breath.

I think the Pirate thing is a reference to the Giant flying spaghetti monster, they have something about gloabl warming being related to lack of Pirates or something, lol.
