Fantabulous Secular Connections Check-in Part III
Stone, I work for a camera/lens rental company and I can tell you... we have more problems out of Sigmas. It's disgusting. Granted, they go through a good bit more wear and tear because they're rentals (shipping, etc) but still... their repair rate is SIGNIFICANTLY higher than their Nikon/Canon counterparts. Plus, the actual lens construction (especially on the larger telephotos) is just crappy. The smaller Sigma primes and wide telephotos don't have as many problems, but those big boys just aren't worth the trouble.
Phal - any time! I'm no expert but I will certainly help out if I can.
Nands, if you don't like all this photography talk, you can PUT A SOCK IN IT!! LOL!!!

Nands, put a sock in it, lol.
Xover is built into the amp. I used to have a separate crossover back in the day, but now even the low end amps have them built in. I have a low end 100 watt x 2 amp running some old school Rockford Fosgate truck boxes. The woofers are pretty much toast, but I'm really only depending on them for mids and highs. I'm probably gonna use that Kicker 8" in one of them when I pick up a second one. I actually brought that box inside. It's really too big of a box for an 8 inch sub, unless it's a free air or maybe an old school Cerwin Vega. And who runs a single 8??? Do you have a system in your ride, Phal?
Infinity makes good speakers. They're owned by JBL, which is a choice brand for concert productions. That 12" has a really nice sound, and it's an entry level sub.
I've been obsessed with bass systems since I was 16, and now that I finally have a big enough amp that I will never need to upgrade, my ears can't handle it anymore. It never used to bother me, now I actually get earaches...

My dogs have decided this house is home
Nia crawled up on my lap for the first time since we left the old house....As annoying as it can be to have a 42 lb lanky furball draped across your chair keeping you from any arm movement...it felt good

Phal, I've got an inexpensive Sony 12" powered sub and 2 Boston Acoustic 8" bookshelf speakers running off an old Fisher amp. I use it for my computer (which is basically my entertainment center) sound.
My gf ran off to Leavenworth with my camera, but I'll take a pic when she gets back. Like most of my stuff, it's put together pretty cheaply.. yard sales, eBay, Craig's List... I like to buy and sell.
