Sorry to hear about your girlfriend Zen. It just goes to show if it isn't one thing it is another. Fortunately we, and when I say we I mean you, are beyond needing a drink to cope with these events that life throws at us. Take good care of her and she will reward you for it when she is all better.
No warranty on my frying pan. It is 10+ years old. I hate replacing things. I am very, very, very, frugal. My wife and kids call me cheap but what do they know. I find wearing 3 sweaters in the winter quite comfy.

My stomach seems to be rebelling against my homemade mexican fajita chili (my own creation, lol). My LifeRing meeting starts in an hour. It will be interesting to see who shows up, if any.. might be posting from the library in a bit, lol...

Good luck DK. If just one person shows up it is a start. It takes time to get the word out.
Maybe you should try to think of how you can spread the word. I don't know maybe make a flier and see if you can post it in the hospital and doctors offices or see if some of the alcohol counselors will let you leave it in their offices.
Anyways just some ideas. Hope it all goes well. I am looking forward to your report when you get back.

Fubar!! You crack me UP!!!

Now see, if you'd spring for the Calphalon griddle/pan, in 10 years you won't have to go buy another one... you can just get a new one for free from them. I'm EXCELLENT at justifying purchases! LOL

Well.. no one showed up. My mental health counselor notified the 2 people who were supposedly interested and I announced it at my relapse prevention *smirk* group. I didn't think I would be disappointed, but I am...

DK, it's alright... it was a brave attempt, I'm sure it's disappointing but I hope you give it another shot next week. Maybe widen your advertising radius somehow? Call a few people personally? I so want this to work out for you
*hugs*

Its far too soon to get upset about it DK, the support group I attended took at least six months to get established and up until recently they were lucky if 3 or 4 people turned up.

Give it time for the message to spread, whats the worst that can happen?

You spend an hour a week sitting in a library on your own, catch up on your reading. LOL

DK...I have a hard time organizing my @ss into my pants everyday.

You are doing so well...and organizing a meeting...I'm not sure I'd ever be able to do that. What you did does take a lot of courage, so much more than I'm likely to ever have...please don't give up.

I agree! Allport had some good points as well. These things take time. It takes time for word to spread, it takes time for people to remember there's a meeting on Saturday LOL, it takes time for people to work up the courage to go... By all means do not even consider giving up yet! You're doing a GOOD THING.

I would be disappointed too but look at all the good that came to you for just organizing it. You got the experience of organizing it, the negotiating skills and organizational skills involved in securing the location and the respect and admiration of all your friends here for going to the trouble of doing that for your fellow addicts.
If I was you I would be feeling proud. I know we are proud of you.

I think I should keep a mood log....remember...I'm not organized...so it will be incredibly hard to stick with it for longer than a week.

TSH, I really like spark people, but I haven't been on for a week. I was obsessing about EVERYTHING that I ate and, although it is a good idea, I couldn't handle logging in every single thing I ate, including the tablespoons of ketchup.

How am I going to keep an accuarte track of my moods? Write down the time? Write down everything I eat AGAIN?

I need help.
