Alchohol and Eyeballs?

Hey Gang,

One of the reasons that I stopped drinking was my eyes. Every morning they were so red it looked like they were bleeding and only after copious amounts of visine would they get back to bloodshot. I felt that anybody that looked into my eyes could read my whole story of addiction. When I stopped for the three months they went back to normal. Now they are back to burning and my visine habit has resurfaced. Anybody else have this problem? I was told by a nurse that it was an indication of liver damage. True?

Oh, I have no idea if it indicates liver damage, but alcohol can damage the eyes...as can too much sugar and high blood pressure. :dunno:

All I know is that I have messed-up bowel problems when I'm actively drinking.

Oh yeah...I forgot.

Red eyes can also result from dry weather and allergies. Only way to know is to see a doc.
