Sarcastic auditions are now open

I'm asking this in the Secular Friends section because I'm just not up for a holier than thou response. In fact, smart@$$ sarcasm would be great right about now.

If my wife is being stubborn, unreasonable, making false accusations against me, claiming to be remembering things from 20 years ago with perfect clarity when I remember them completely differently which makes me wrong (of course), is most likely bipolar according to both of us but refuses to go get diagnosed, in fact refuses to give a damn about pretty much everything ... what do I buy her for Christmas?

Go ahead, make me laugh. I need a break from being bummed about all this for a minute.
Channel Sam Kinison if you have to.

Get her an Hour Glass so you can remind her when it's time to change moods again.

a partner with compassion and understanding?

I'm sorry - maybe it cos I've been following this a while, but I don't get the joke JIT.

Every time I see one of your posts like this, I think back to my drinking days - any one of my exes could have written stuff like this about me - from their POV it might have been justified, but it was never the full story.

I was sick - I got better. We all did.

D

The situation is not a joke.
As I said, I was looking for a break from it.
If I dwell on it 100% of the time and don't lighten up once in a while, I'll go off the deep end and then there would be little hope for caring or compasion.

As they say, "laughter is often the best medicine".
If I didn't make light of some of my situations, I would probably spend a lot more time crying.

Thanks, saying "don't actually give her the gift" gave me a laugh. Mission accomplished.

I know a DELIGHTFUL jewellery store you could buy her some WONDERFUL gifts at....but it might be a bit of a drive.

And you dang well are allowed to find humour in your situation...if we didn't laugh at the messes we find ourselves in now and then we'd never find the strength to get out of them.

Good on you Joinedintime! Go for a laugh! I have found people so serious about addiction and it doesnt have to be that way! If we all just got stuck thinking about the tragedies of life it wouldn't be worth living. There are funny things that happen because of our situations, I bet everyone has funny things to say but we are all afraid that we might offend someone! I made up my mind a few years ago to say things that make me laugh out loud, even if someone might find it offensive, after a while people lighten up, they know you mean well and are trying your best to deal with a situation. If you can laugh at it, you can conquer it, if you don't laugh at yourself someone else will.
