Yeah last couple of days were a struggle, kept telling myself "this too shall pass" and am feeling better today, bit down but more positive, main thing is i'm really glad i haven't had a drink! I take that as my starting point!

Mum's still in hospital waiting for the whatsit-o-gram, but it's looking like an op is needed, some sort of little cage thing that'll sit in the heart and keep a valve open. She's doing ok though.

Work-wise my attitude is it's happened a couple months too early - when i finish my course i'd be looking for anything then anyway, preferably electrical work but if none available i'd take anything to get me by till some electrician jobs came up.

Only problem now is with the job centre wanting me to take any work available and having to give up my electrical course if necessary. I just have to wing it until may / june when i'll be fully qualified...

So the situation hasn't changed... But my outlook has... And if i'd gone on a bender, i would be feeling a million times worse for sure!

Hi Spark I'm glad you're feeling better about yourself.

The thing to do now is make sure no one offers you a job until you are ready.

Have you seen trainspotting?

Use Spuds method, without the drugs of course. lol

I've just finished re-reading Trainspotting and then started, Stephen Baxter's 'Evolution' last week so I'm mildly freaked to see 'em both mentioned on the same page.

Irvine Welsh wrote a sequel to Trainspotting called 'Porno' that Danny Boyle's trying to make with the original cast back together.
It's set ten years after and follows the original gang of reprobates as they scam each other mercilessly and make a porn film...you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll hurl...thoroughly recommended.

Coming to check in here daily and say HI. So far I am making it and if I don't my wifey will toss me out so if I don't post for a few days I will be in the park. A good incentive to make it through the winter anyways. You can also find me in the newcomers whiners thread. I am doing 90 whines in 90 days. It is cool there. I guess the HP doesn't like whiners as they are few and far between over there.

I'm here...and I have some soup on the stove......

...I don't know if it's going to taste good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed....I'm tasting it every so often and adding more herbs and spices. If I keep doing this, there will be more flavorings than anything else in the soup.

...it better at least be edible because there's a lot of food there and I don't want to waste it (I cook often, but soup is NOT my strong point)...

...

*sigh*

Hi Alera. I haven't gone anywhere, just been more of an observer these days.

Hello Anada, Bam, DK, and the rest of U's. Have a wonderful day!

I'm with ya there, fubar. I'm still laying in bed debating what time I'll get off my rear and go to the gym. I'm sooooo sore from yesterday, but I know that's a good thing and I need to keep it up.
