Unfreakinbelievable!

Wow...after such a crappy night, what a fantastic day! I got a wonderful gift...just fell into my lap.

One of the members of my extended family brought me over a camera and gave it to me. My mother had been talking to her about it off-hand...and...long story short, my family member decided to give it to ME. Lucky for me she couldn't sell it.

Why is this significant? Quite recently I've decided that I’m going to buy a digital SLR in the coming months. Not knowing anything about cameras (other than the point and shoot varieties), I was going to just buy one and dive into it (probably with the help of the internet and a book or two). Well, this isn't a digital SLR, but it is an SLR! I can learn how to use this camera NOW! WOW! Yeah for me calling off of work today!

She said even if I only use it to learn, then it gets good usage. I couldn't thank her enough...I kept explaining to her how I was going to buy a digital version...and how bizarre it was with the timing. Do do do do do do do do(Twilight Zone)!

All I need to do now is buy a tripod and some film.

single-lens reflex...you look through the same lens (through viewfinder) that exposes the film...(thereabouts)...I don't know much about it myself...

...you can put several different lenses on it and filters...

...fun times...

Yay, Bam!!

p.s. When the time comes for you to dive into the dSLR world, drop me a note. I'll be happy to help. Photography is a passion of mine. I'm a Nikon girl so I'm a bit biased toward them, but I know a lot about Canon, too, and will give you honest opinions. I work for an online lens rental company, too, so while I'm not an EXPERT I do at least know what I'm talking about some of the time.
