My friend of many years - drug and alcohol counselor for 15 years with the DOD - he still won't pronounce me as "alcoholic." For me, I think psych issues are primary. Now, this isn't to say alcohol hasn't taken on a life of its own, as it has. But it's really the chicken or egg question. In the end, who really cares?
