allport...the beauty for me is that by trying to live by what I did believe is really what helped me to find out what I really believed and what I really didn't...hard to explain, but following my own path is an everchanging and eyeopening expereince and I believe it keeps me sober today :ghug

Yea that about sums it up for me too. Also I would like to be able to share my beliefs in meetings without being made fun of or criticized. BTW both have happened to me.

My dog bit a neighbor's kid on the ankle today. She had jeans on, but it still broke the skin in one spot. I feel really really bad and I'm scared...

Paul, I'm so sorry. It's natural that you'd feel this way.

I don't know the particulars on how or why this happened. A smallish skin break is probably no big deal, realistically, unless they want to make it a big deal (as I'm assuming that your dog isn't current on vaccinations).

Get information and be as proactive as you can. One little step at a time.

I'm thinking of you.

Big hug,
Donna

She's up to date on all her shots. I don't have a fenced yard and have a tie off for each of them, but I usually let them play for a bit before or after I put them on their ties to go to the bathroom. They were wrestling and chasing when the girl walked by the house catching me by suprise. Sienna charged her, barking and acting fierce and bit her on the leg. I yelled at her and she ran back towards me and I put her on the tie. She's been known to bite ankles, especially kids, and I should have been more aware. I told her mom I wouldn't let her off the tie anymore and would supervise at all times when she was out there, but that didn't seem to help. She had her boyfriend with her when they came over to talk to me, who kept insinuating that I should have her put down...

doorknob, if you want to answer a couple questions here it might give someone a chance to offer some good advice

how is your relationship with the nieghbor kid's family?
is your dog a breed that people tend to think the worst of right away?
did it happen at your place or was the dog out on the run?
any priors for the dog?

They just moved in a couple weeks ago, but we have had some friendly conversations, and had talked about our dogs playing together. She's a mixed breed, maybe Heeler/Pitbull, but we really don't know. The girl was on the sidewalk in front of our place.

Hey, Paul.

Just want you to know I'm thinking of you, and hope all will be fine with your dog and the neighbors.

Since your dog has its shots, and there is no previous legal history of aggression, there's a big relief there.

Just do your part, as you said, by keeping her on her tie and insuring that this can't happen again. Maybe let the neighbor's know that you care and see how they've settled down.

One step at a time. Hang in there, bud.

Hugs,
Donna
