You're reading it correct. I just decided to use this thread rather than starting another one.

As far as a relapse, I never really had much sober time to relapse from. And although I was doing an alright job of not drinking too much most of the time, I know I'm better off not drinking at all. So... I'm giving it another go. Thanks for your reply! :)

Thanx doorknob, for linking me here. You have been helpfullto me. I didn't see any lifering meetings by me but there are 1 or 2 SMART recovery. Our there really others that feel like I guess, AA failures? I know that the programs works for many and i need to stop bashing it.

Your welcome, Tib. I saw one LifeRing meeting in the Chicago area, but don't know how far away it is from where you live. I live in a rural area and have neither. I know what it's like to try to fit into AA as a non-believer. I also know that group support is vital (for me) in maintaining my motivation for continued sobriety, as I have no other f2f support system. There are many others who feel the way you do. Many have found there way to SMART or LifeRing, or have managed to tailor their own sobriety program.

Hi Tib, good to see you.

I think you'll find that Smart Recovery and Lifering are very complementary. You're lucky to have some Smart f2f to try. I don't have any f2f support here, but I did get great online support at Smart.

Yeah I might continue to do this 1 NA meeting that I enjoy as well. I don't tell AA/NA folks of my new plans for sobriety. I was taking a beating over there in the Alcoholism forum. One of my strengths I think is that I have always thought "outside the box".
