hey guys!
Im here, only been busy today.
Charley, subs is an abbreviation for suboxone . did I spell it right Clean? Its used to help taper off of opiate based pain meds. Many people use low levels for a while before going totally off. the doc prescribes them.
ok funny story time! Mr Blue is in NYC and it was late last night, we decided to watch a movie together at the same time. there was this one we had been meaning to see. its about this apple farmer and how there is this industrial accident at a plant close by that produces a medication like viagra. and so all the apple trees and apples are affected. ok you get the rest. it was supposed to be a comedy and we laughed so hard over the sort of low budget filming. Its just hard to explain. the farmer and his robust wife! their hired help, and townspeople, this greedy guy who tried to trick the farmer into giving him the monies earned from the apple sales. and then we laughed at ourselves both watching it on different sides of the country!
A 40 inch tv can be large for a bedroom but I bet those kids dont mind at all! I hope they can become trusted friends and neighbors! lots of animals run away from home i guess during fireworks. ive seen some warnings saying, protect your pets, they get scared and dont understand whats going on.
charley, your doing good. I know its up and down a lot with H. But you are moving forward and will get where you need to be, either way it goes. I believe this.

Blue did a perfect job explaining it. Its a med my doctor put me on to get off the pills and work on my recovery. Its time to ween off it now. But because my body has become physically dependent on it,...it needs to be tapered slowly so I don't get withdrawal symptoms.

blue you made me laugh! Too funny! We have a joke hubs and I about those types of movies. My husband always picks those type of crazy low budget films. But what's even more absurd is the way he rewinds trying to make sense of them! Ha! I have to remind him that they are not supposed to make sense and if they are.....they did a bad job with it. Ha!
But how cute and cozy watching a movie together like that. Love it!

I have been following you on here for a while. I grew up much like your husband and have had some of the behaviors he has. ( I more isolate and detach but can have a biting tongue at times) When I first got sober I acted like an ass. My wife is a saint and put up with a lot.
After a lot of therapy and almost losing my family things have gotten much better. I saw that I was pushing EVERYONE who loved me away with my insecurities.
The thing that really started the change was my wife was preparing to go. She detached and started taking care of herself forcing me to see the real picture. Before that she was trying so hard to make everything ok for me that it really wasn't helping.
The way I see it is everyone is responsible for their own happiness and lets face it we are the only ones who can make ourselves happy ( as my shrink would say its an inside job).
You have been putting most of the work making it easy for him to just dwell on his issues. Relationships are a 50/50 thing when one partner is doing all the work it almost never stays together.
I think your plan of working on this till Christmas is a good one. I would tell him exactly what you are thinking. I wouldnt take any crap as soon as he starts getting out of control tell him we are not doing this our destiny is in your hands.
This worked for me I dont know your husband if he at all gets violent protect yourself and your child.
Your story affects me because I see my story in you. I hope it works as well for as it has for us. Good Luck

Thank you tbeit! I'm sure what you conveyed to charley means a lot to her! It will give her hope! Hope to keep on trying....and maybe pulling a little more weight until her husband can wake up from his addiction like we have and contribute to their relationship. Thank you for telling us your story and please don't be so quiet. Ha!

It's completely dark here now and the banger, screamers and boomers are going off! I gave Magnum the valium earlier! He's still scared to death. I'd let him in here with me, but the last time I did that he damn near tore a bunch of stuff up! So he's back under the tablesaw stand hiding. I have the fan turned in his direction to help keep him cool too! Thankfully it's only 76 degrees.
Our neighbors are shooting off some powerful fireworks over there! I'm glad the grass is green and not brown! I'll catch sight of one every once in awhile thru the window facing their direction!

Awe poor magnum! Thank God it only comes once a year! Dova was pretty scared too. I had to constantly reassure him that he was okay. He was hunched up in his little hiddy hole...poor little guy.
Our neighbor just across from us gave us a very nice show! We had a huge feast today! Husband was out all day playing with his new grill! Ha! The kids even roasted marshmallows to make s'mores. It was a very nice day! :-)
