Thanks Opi

Is that Toots?

Talking about food...
I hate to see these goddam squirrels stealing the poor little birds seeds...
Here's a gif that made me happy!

CK, I share your feelings about the squirrels. A few years ago, I bought several Squirrel Busters and Squirrel Solution bird feeders, made by Brome, a Canadian company. They work GREAT, and as if that's not enough, if any part breaks or wears out for the life of the feeder, Brome will replace if for free! Really truly free, not "free but you pay the shipping" or any of that crap.

And they are SO Canadian...I contacted them for a part for one of my feeders a few months ago. There was a delay b/c the part was out of stock. To summarize the whole exchange, I contacted them twice after the original request to check the status, and the 2nd time, they said they would send me the part PLUS a whole new feeder b/c they felt so badly that I had to wait so long. Then I checked several weeks later, when neither had arrived yet. The very nice gal on the phone said the holdup was due to the opening of a new warehouse, which had been a nightmare, but was now wrapping up.

I said, oh, sure, I understand how that can go. She said "but wait--the warehouse is in NORTH CAROLINA." (This was just before Florence was due to hit.) "I really can't say how long or short the delay may be NOW, " she told me, "but we'll do our best."

Well, I finally did receive my part AND my whole new feeder. There is nothing quite as gratifying as watching those little [email protected]#%Q$'s faces when they have crawled all up and down and around the feeder and can't get so much as one lousy sunflower seed out!! Priceless.

You also make me proud to be Canadian!

I love the little critters. I spread seed out on my patio and everyone shares...the squirrels and chipmunks, the birds, and a couple of mallards who wander this way now and then.

Happy Thanksgiving, Canadian Koala.

Sorry, but those things are very very cruel.

venus, don't know if you looked at the video of the feeder I talked about, but it's a weight-sensitive setup that closes off access to the seed if something heavier than a couple of birds (like a squirrel) is on it. I don't think it's any more cruel than keeping my bird seed in a metal trash can so the mice and squirrels don't get into it or putting my dogs' food in the closet in between feedings...

Though squirrels may look cute, they are actually very destructive when they eat through screens and makes nests in your attic. And they are hard to eradicate because they're vicious.

And I'm sorry, but I shed no tears for them if they simply fall off a bird feeder.
